Pedestal sinks are practical for smaller bathrooms.
A pedestal sink is an attractive option for a bathroom that has limited space, as it takes up less room than a standard sink with vanity. The one potential downside is the exposed water pipes underneath it. These pipes don't add much to the aesthetic appeal of the bathroom; however, you can creatively conceal them to avoid detracting from your bathroom's good looks.

Step 1
Use a flexible measuring tape to take a measurement around the circumference of the pedestal sink's basin. Record this number for fabric size reference.
Step 2
Measure from the floor straight upward, to 1 inch above the bottom of the pedestal sink basin. Also record this number.
Step 3
Cut a piece of fabric to the width of the sink basin circumference plus 1 inch, and to the height of the floor-to-basin measurement plus 1 inch to allow for hemming.
Step 4
Fold the top and bottom of the sink skirt over half an inch and pin into place. Sew with a machine or by hand to hem. Repeat the hemming process on the vertical cuts, as well.
Step 5
Apply a strip of industrial strength double-sided adhesive tape around the pedestal sink basin, 1 inch above the bottom.
Step 6
Line up the completed sink skirt and press it into place over the adhesive. Run your hand along the point of contact between the adhesive and the fabric to ensure full adhesion.
Tip
Choose fabric that matches your existing bathroom décor, such as the shower curtain.
